Most celebrities are now wearing their hair messy updos. No longer are they making sure every hair is perfectly placed. This messy style is very sexy and ideal for a nice night out. This style works for anyone that has shoulder length hair that is straight, wavy or even curly.
To create this look yourself at home you first start by towel drying your hair and then spraying it with a styling spray. Use a paddle brush to separate the hair while you are blow drying it. Place a small amount of mousse into your hand and then work it through the hair to the back to create volume and texture. Then pull the majority of you hair into a high ponytail on the back of your head and secure it with an elastic band. Be sure to leave some strands loose to frame your face. Next, you need to separate your ponytail into three or four sections. Then bring each section down, folding it over and into the base of the ponytail securing with bobby pins or another elastic band.
Another great style that has been noticed in Los Angeles is the tousled waves. Here in Southern California it used to just be a style you saw at the beach, now it’s a style that is being worn out in a fun an romantic way. This style works best if your hair is naturally wavy, or you get a large perm (wave only).
To get this look you need to make sure you blow dry your hair until it is halfway dry. Then apply volumizing spray onto your damp hair and finger dry hair the rest of the way to provide texture and volume. If you have long bangs, sweep them to the side. Use a large barreled curling iron to touch up waves if necessary. Don’t curl small sections, that will create tighter curls than you want. Place a little pomade or texturizing cream in your hand and flip your head over and run you fingers through your hair. Flip back and finish with hairspray.

Start by creating an off-center part in towel-dried hair, use a paddle brush while blow drying your hair to get the remaining moisture out. Smooth the front portion of your hair toward the back and ten toward the opposite side of the head from the part. Brush all your hair on the sides and crown toward the nape of you neck. Gather the hair all together into a ponytail and position the base of the ponytail behind your ear, then secure with an elastic band.
