Once upon a time, about 30 years from now, I would say, there was a Phoenix. You know, the bird that rose from the ashes? Yeah, well, they actually exist in the future. Anyway, this Phoenix was a female, raised by a family. Yes, people are allowed to have them as pets also, in the future. She was a young one, just a few years old. Now this family had other great pets, an albino bat as well as a giant lady bug. Well the Lady Bug wasn't really huge, like squash people, but huge for her kind. She was about the size of a chicken breast. The 3 pets shared the same room, belonged to the 3 children in the house, Phoebe, the oldest girl was the owner of the Phoenix, Bryce was the owner of the bat and Elle was the owner of the giant lady bug.
On a warm summer day, the 3 kids put their pets outside in their cages to get some sun and fresh air. The kids had taken their pets out to play with them, but put them back when they had to leave the house for swimming lessons. Now, these kids didn't always pay attention, so, as you guessed, they forgot to lock the cages. First out was Bryce's bat. He flew off to the east, then Elle's lady bug, she flew to the north. For some reason Phoebe's Phoenix was reluctant to go, although she didn't want to be left behind, alone, so she flew off to the South.
The Phoenix flew until her flame wings were tired. Since she was scared and alone, she was in flames the entire time she was flying, for protection of course. When she finally landed, she noticed she was pretty far from home. She thought that maybe she should return home, but didn't know which way to go! First, she tried to find other birds around, maybe they could tell her which way her home was. But, none wanted to speak to her. She then tried all the insects, but they were all afraid she wanted to eat them. Finally, she tried the sea life in the ocean. She lived in Southern California, so, since she went south, she was still near the ocean. She found a very friendly whale. This whale told the Phoenix to land on her back and she would swim her where she needed to go.
After hours of travel on the whale, The Phoenix had arrived to a place called Huntington Beach. Here the whale told her she must fly north-east until she hits Los Angeles County. There she will find the city she lives in, her family and friends. The Phoenix took off and flew for not quite an hour until she arrived to a city called La Habra. Here she found a very nice sparrow. This sparrow flew her straight to Whittier, the city the Phoenix's family live in. Now, since the Phoenix didn't know the exact location, the sparrow flew her to the center of the city and told her to fly above the homes until she found the one with her cage in the backyard. The Phoenix flew and flew for hours until finally she heard a little girl crying, "Where has my best friend gone? Why would she leave me? Mom, my Phoenix is gone!!"
The Phoenix new that voice, it was Phoebe. She flew down, and landed right in front of Phoebe. Phoebe was so happy to she her Phoenix that she screamed with joy. The Phoenix wondered what happened to her friends, but there they were back in their cages eating as if nothing had happened. So, the Phoenix thought about it, and as soon as the three pets were alone in their room, she asked, "Where did you guys go?"
The Bat replied, "The neighbors roof."
The Lady Bug replied, "A few houses up to hang out in their tree. Where did you go?"
The Phoenix replied, "I'm not really sure, but there was water, a whale, then I met a sparrow he led me back home. It was scary, yet exciting."
The other pets were so jealous, so the three decided that the next time around they will go on an adventu
